    In a Nutshell

    • Top highlights: Sports betting and casino games in abundance; a generous number and choice of promotions and bonuses
    • VIP or loyalty programme: No
    • Other offerings: Casino

    Overview

SportNation is a relative newcomer to the sports betting market, having been set up only in 2016. You may remember it by its previous name of Bet on Brazil - a reference to Alan Brazil, the talkSPORT radio presenter and former professional footballer.

Rest assured that SportNation has made significant progress during the little time it has been an online sports bookmaker. It's also worth pointing out that football is far from the sole sport for which betting opportunities are available through the SportNation site.

    Promotions

It's conveniently easy to see the main "Promotions" link on the website's interface, just beneath the SportNation logo in the upper-left corner. Furthermore, once you've clicked on that link, you can be faced with promotions that are surprisingly generous considering SportNation's age.

Examples of particularly appealing promotions that we have seen on the promotions page - and you might yet see yourself - include guarantees of the best odds, cashouts and partial cashouts, and even refunds. SportNation also pledges exclusive offers through its Facebook page.

Sports Betting Types and Betting Markets

Unsurprisingly in light of Alan Brazil's involvement, football has especially strong representation on the SportNation site. Head to the site's left-hand panel and click "Soccer", as football is called on the site; you should quickly see the two lists of "Top Leagues" and "All Leagues".

Those leagues that SportNation has singled out as being of top standard include the English Premier League and Championship and the highest leagues of Germany, Spain, Italy and France; those are, respectively, the Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A and Ligue 1.

Nonetheless, SportNation has also significantly broadened its offerings that are unrelated to football. The sports selection actually now rivals that of many firmly-established sports betting sites; here are just a few of the sports listed.

    • Horse racing
    • Tennis
    • Cricket
    • American football
    • Baseball
    • Basketball
    • Aussie rules
    • Badminton
    • Boxing
    • Cycling
    • Volleyball

    Betting Coverage

SportNation has a broad betting coverage

There is, then, evidently quite a feast of sport you can enjoy both following and betting on when you are a member of SportNation. However, it is typical for a sports betting site to dedicate a whole section to in-play betting - and SportNation is no exception.

We were impressed by how smooth the interface was when we tried our hand at some live betting with SportNation. Nonetheless, there's currently a strong football slant to the in-play opportunities offered on the site; fans of other sports could be slightly disappointed.

Another potential sore point is the lack of a SportNation app that you can download to your phone for ready use when you are out and about. Still, the website has a design that adapts well to smaller displays, meaning you might not deem such an app a big necessity after all.

    Software and Graphics

The colour scheme of SportNation's website can be described as largely black with hints of white, orange and turquoise. It's a straightforward but also slightly distinctive scheme that keeps the site looking easy on the eye and far from jarring.

We never had problems with loading times as we casually clicked through various parts of the site. On the homepage, you can see several navigation panels - including two along the top and another on the left-hand side – that make it easy for users to find all of the vital elements.

We certainly can't discuss the site's software without mentioning its casino games area. The software for this part of the site has been sourced from two particularly esteemed suppliers, NetEnt and iSoftbet; therefore, you shouldn't be surprised to learn how smoothly the software runs.

    Extra Value

In many respects, SportNation still appears to be playing catch-up to other sports betting portals. As such, while it is straightforward to mention what features the site has in common with rivals, trying to find features that are absent on other sites is noticeably trickier for us.

However, it is probably in its promotions and bonuses that SportNation most distinguishes itself from rivals. We have already hinted at much of what you can expect to see on the main promotions page; however, don't forget to also click on "Today's Best Boosts", which you should see on one of the site's upper navigation panels, for a list of enhanced odds.

    Loyalty or VIP Programme

A VIP or loyalty scheme is conspicuous by its absence on the SportNation site. This may simply be a sign of how new the site still is; however, by adding such a scheme, SportNation could bring itself closer to the offerings of competing online sports bookmakers.

    Other Offerings

When you want a break from sports betting, you can try some casino action. SportNation separates its standard and live casino games across two sections; however, whichever of those sections you click through to, you should be thrilled by the choice that appears.

The standard casino titles include the familiar favourite Starburst and the branded Guns n' Roses video slot. Meanwhile, at SportNation's live casino, you can play the likes of roulette, baccarat and blackjack with a video feed of a live dealer.

    Deposit / Withdrawal Methods

Perhaps reflecting how new SportNation largely still is as a betting site, the possible ways in which deposits can be made are currently limited in comparison to rival online sports bookies.

Payment Method Fee Processing Time Minimum Deposit
VISA Credit Card None Instant £10
VISA Debit Card None Instant £10
MasterCard Credit Card None Instant £20
MasterCard Debit Card None Instant £10

*Current as of January 2018; please check SportNation’s website for updates

    Payout Policy

When you want to withdraw any winnings, the several possible means of doing so are:

Withdrawal Method Fee Processing Time Minimum Withdrawal
VISA Credit Card None Instant £10
VISA Debit Card None Instant £10
MasterCard Credit Card None Instant £10
MasterCard Debit Card None Instant £10

    Customer Support

You have many options at your disposal if you have a problem with the SportNation website and want to reach out to customer support staff. The detailed FAQ might answer all of your questions anyway; if it doesn't, you can email or use the live chat facility.

That facility is available during the hours of 12pm to 10pm every day of the week. SportNation cites its response time through live chat as three minutes on average, while the average response time to emails is less than 48 hours.

    Who Can Play?

SportNation is accessible to users across various countries, though one notable exception is the United States.

    Licence

SportNation is owned and run by Argyll Entertainment AG, which the UK Gambling Commission licenses and regulates.

    Bottom Line

Despite having only been an internet presence since 2016 and clearly lacking some of its competitors' key features, SportNation has much to recommend it. Football fans are particularly well-supplied; however, followers of other sports could be easily enticed as well.
